In the last months of 2018, the RELIFE team had the pleasure to collaborate with Dr. Javier Guallart and his fifteen-year experience on the study of ecology and biology of P. ferruginea!
He took part in the collection of specimens in Tavolara-Punta Coda Cavallo MPA and in activities regarding reproduction in the controlled environment of the Camogli marine laboratory.
This collaboration, which will continue over the next few years, has been extremely fruitful and gave us the opportunity to increase our knowledge about the reproductive cycle of this species, highlighting possible differences among the Mediterranean populations, without excluding effects linked to the exceptional storms which marked the end of October 2018.
